For Adults…
Are you a parent? Do you need some guidance with communicating with your teenager, tween, or partner? Are you dealing with changes in your life that seem overwhelming? Wherever you are in life, there are always hurdles to jump over. Therapy can help you figure out the best way to navigate the task of getting over the hurdle. Sometimes we jump over it, sometimes, we go around it, other times we just crawl to the finish line. My approach to therapy provides a way over, around or through the hurdles of life. Providing a safe and brave space for you to express the fear, anxiety, pressure, etc., is my number one priority. Your thoughts and feelings are heard in a non-judgmental way that contains your emotions and assists in creating real change in your life. You are not alone in this journey; I will be there to listen and guide you on how to access the tools you already possess. Being vulnerable is being human. Then why don’t we do it more? I can help answer that question. Feeling loved and loving others is the very source of happiness for many of us. Being able to make connections and form and sustain relationships, is a challenge that is often avoided. Is this an issue for you? I can help find ways for you to use your strengths to develop strong relationships with friends and family through communication and vulnerability. |
For Teens…
Are you struggling with worry, pressure, sadness, low motivation, loneliness, not sleeping, etc? Sometimes these are “typical” responses to life and sometimes they can be a symptom of a larger issue. I can help find the cause, create a treatment plan that is unique and just for you. Whether you need a safe place to talk or change negative thoughts to positive ones or to change behaviors or to learn how to practice self-care; the journey starts with our first session. Mental health is an umbrella term used to encompass our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. There is normal stress (taking a test, speaking in front of your peers, etc) and chronic stress that impairs your ability to function (do school, socialize, feel tired all the time, etc). Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health. |
